Is your bathroom safe?

We all use the bathroom numerous times a day, however are our bathrooms safe? Bathroom safety is especially important to keep on top of if you have small children. The bathroom can be filled with numerous potentially dangerous objects and situations. To help you protect your family we have consulted with our panel of safety experts to bring you a bathroom safety tip list. Even if you think you are doing all you can in the name of home safety, it doesn't hurt to take a minute and read through our bathroom safety tip list.

This bathroom safety tip list is really for parents with small children. But even if you don't have children of your own, you should make yourself aware of these safety tips as you never know when you might have a little visitor!

  1. Never leave a bath tub full of water unattended, it will only take a minute for your little one to fall in and drown
  2. Never leave a sink full of water, again this could be dangerous for a young child
  3. Never dispose of sharp objects or plastic bags in your bathroom trash can. Sharp objects should not be discarded for obvious reasons, your child could suffocate if they place a plastic bag over their heads
  4. Keep all medications in a locked cabinet, out of reach
  5. Keep sharp objects in a locked cabinet
  6. Never leave a young child alone in the tub
  7. Don't leave young children unattended in the bathroom
  8. If your child can reach the window, make sure the window is locked
  9. You can buy plastic covers for electrical outlets and fit catches to all drawers and cabinet doors to prevent your child from opening them
  10. You can even install an alarm to the bathroom door to stop your children from entering without your knowledge
